Guided Enamel Remineralization
One of the core values at Dr. Jennifer K. Lamont, DDS Integrative Wellness and Dentistry is LESS IS MORE. If at all possible, we want to avoid drilling into a tooth and starting the lifelong cycle of restorations and treatment for that tooth.
Our office is trained in the use of the guided enamel regeneration product Curodont for treatment of small cavities in enamel and white spot lesions. Why just “watch” a cavity get bigger when there is an inexpensive and preventive treatment that can help strengthen and remineralize your tooth?
Curodont is a liquid that is applied directly onto the cleaned surface of the early cavity and allowed to dry for five minutes. It only requires one application. It’s that simple! Over the course of weeks, the Curodont will then pull minerals like calcium and phosphate found in saliva into the early cavity. This allows the lesion to remineralize and re-harden. Visual results are usually seen at 90 days, though the enamel begins to repair and reharden much earlier.
